Know where recognition happens. And where data goes.
FaceStream processes camera images on your own hardware. Photos, face data and visits are stored there. Connections you configure can send information to other systems.
Recognition and storage are local
Images are analysed on the FaceStream host. Enrolled people, event images and settings live in its data folder. Configure retention and protect that host and its backups.
You choose event recipients
Local MQTT or Loxone can keep the event path inside your network. External push or email services receive the information and images you choose to send. Home Assistant discovery sends camera events to the configured MQTT broker.
Updates and activation are separate
FaceStream checks for software updates. Licences that require online activation contact the licence server with licence ID, device ID, version and edition, not camera images or face data.

The update check can be disabled. Licences without online activation are available by arrangement; discuss an offline installation before purchase.

Does “local” mean nothing ever leaves the network?
No. Recognition is local, while updates, activation where required and your configured destinations have their own data flows. Review them for your installation.
Where can I report a security issue?
Use the dedicated security contact rather than a public report. Please do not include credentials or customer images in your initial message.
