FaceStream accepts RTSP and MJPEG camera streams. Check your actual camera, its stream settings and the hardware that will process the images.
01 / Verify stream access
Find the camera’s RTSP or MJPEG address and credentials. Confirm that the FaceStream host can reach it. Automatic discovery is a convenience, not a requirement.
02 / Check the picture
Test the real view: face detail, position, lighting and movement matter. A stream that opens successfully is only the first step toward useful recognition.

Recognition runs on the machine hosting FaceStream. Use the existing system requirements to choose hardware and the edition for your camera count.

Choose your intended output and verify its edition requirements. Home Assistant via MQTT and the dedicated Loxone connection require Pro or higher.

Is every model from a camera brand compatible?
No blanket guarantee follows from the brand. The specific model must expose a supported, accessible stream; configuration and image quality must be checked.
Can I keep my NVR?
FaceStream uses camera streams for recognition and does not record video. Check whether the camera or your video system exposes a stream that FaceStream can access.
